Thad Mandsager
Director of Family Services
Thad holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of New Hampshire. Trained in areas such as child welfare, social welfare policy, and human development, Thad has an array of experience in the human service field. He previously spent six months as an intern at the Community Center, followed by ten months as an AmeriCorps member and then two years as Special Projects Coordinator, which allowed him the opportunity to help launch the Quantum Opportunities Program. Thad has also done grant writing and research for several consulting firms and nonprofit organizations.
Brandy Barshaw
21st Century Project Coordinator
Brandy leads the 21st Century program at the SOCC and manages a classroom of 3rd- and 4th-grade students. She also facilitates a number of enrichment programs, including arts and crafts and cultural awareness activities, all while working toward a B.A. in human services. Prior to her work at the center, Brandy ran a successful child care business and was a regular volunteer at the Dover Headstart program.
Cindi Wiggins
Site Coordinator
Cindi is a Site Coordinator who works closely with the Middle School population, alongside Officer Caproni. Cindi also oversees all volunteers, interns and work study students at the center. She has been with the SOCC since 2002. Having 4 children of her own, she knows the challenges that parents face each day. Cindi is very passionate about her work and loves to speak to other organizations about the center and the services it provides.
Mimi Bergere
Quantum Program Director
Mimi works with Dover High School students who were selected to participate in the Quantum Program at the SOCC. She also coordinates the mentoring program for middle and high school students at the SOCC. Her professional experience includes directing two statewide youth service organizations; New Hampshire Partners in Education and Granite State Youth Mentors. She is the founder of the first school-based mentoring program in New Hampshire and is an accredited mentoring trainer with MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership. Mimi earned her Bachelor of Arts from the School of Journalism at UC Berkeley.
Kristen Talbot
AmeriCorps Member
Kristen is a 2008 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Spanish. She has always loved working with youth and is excited to be working at the SOCC, particularly with the middle school children. This is her first year in the Americorps program and hopes to develop the children's talents in a positive way.
Linda Raynes
AmeriCorps Member
Linda holds a B.A. in History from Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa, OK. Prior to her service as an Americorps Member, Linda worked as a Paraprofessional in Jenks, OK and Raymond, NH. After college, she served the International community at Tulsa University, helping with programs which addressed the practical needs of international students and their families. Linda works primarily at the afterschool program at Woodman Park School, assisting Brandy with administration, homework labs, and enrichment activities. She hopes to incorporate three of her loves—art, service projects, and team-building/challenge activities—into the afterschool program’s curriculum this year.
David Rawding
Quantum Opportunities Program Assistant
David works with high school students in the Quantum Opportunities Program at the SOCC. David volunteered as a Wildcat Youth Mentor for three years, while earning his B.A. in English at the University of New Hampshire in May 2008. He is currently an active probationary fire fighter and an EMT-Basic at Barrington Fire and Rescue in the town of Barrington, New Hampshire.
Officer Joe Caproni
Youth Liaison Officer - Dover Police Department
During the school year Officer Caproni works with the students in afterschool enrichment programming. He assists with Homework Lab (HEAL) and leads various team-building and leadership development programs throughout the school year. As a DARE officer, he teaches multiple drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention classes to students in the elementary and middle schools. In the summer he coordinates outdoor adventure programs for SOCC youth.
