Volunteer Opportunities



Community Meal Support

  • Plan, prepare, serve, and clean a community meal


Homework Lab Tutors & Storytellers

  • Provide one-on-one assistance with homework

  • Read with young children during homework lab to strengthen literary skills


Classroom Support Staff

  • Help manage classroom, aid with attendance, help transitions from one activity to the next, etc.

  • Cook and/or serve snack


Program Facilitators

  • Share your talents, hobbies or interests by leading a weekly program (i.e. knitting, photography, book club, dance, geology, etc.)


Fundraising Assistants

  • Provide contacts and ideas for funding sources
  • Help organize and publicize events
  • Make an event of your own. This can be a one-time event or an event that takes place on a regular basis - your idea in action!


Job Coaches/Career Counselors

  • Help students develop interview skills and a sense of professinoalism
  • Provide or locate job shadowing opportunities for high school students
  • Assist with resume writing
  • Help with college research and/or college application process
  • Provide SAT coaching


Guest Speakers

  • Share a motivational story about your life or career path with high school students
  • Share your expertise in a particular field. This could be something you've done research on, teach, or specialize in.


Credit Counseling/Budgeting

  • Develop a financial management program for students and adults
  • Give a mini-lesson in basic money management skills (i.e. balancing a budget, building credit, interest rates, food purchasing, real estate, etc.)


Open Gym/Teen Open Gym Coordinator

  • Organize games for youth at their skill level


Office Assistants

  • Prepare mailings
  • General office help
  • Deliver flyers


Center Maintenance Volunteers

  • Mop, wash windows, dishes, vacuum
  • Maintain grounds
  • Assist with one-time maintenance projects (i.e. painting, repair, etc.)


One-Time Event Volunteers

  • Help during community service projects
  • help with event set-up or clean-up
